In his maiden season he set a franchise rookie record in the regular season in scoring average (16.6ppg) despite missing a total of 21 games due to injuries. That same season his team made the playoffs and this is where D-Wade made some noise. Wade averaged 18ppg and 5.6apg becoming the only Heat rookie to lead the team in scoring average in the postseason and just the fourth rookie in the NBA shot-clock era history to do so, joining the likes of Michael Jordan, Stephon Marbury and Billy Ray Bates. The following season (2004-05), with the behemoth Shaquille O'Neal joining the team, Wade dramatically improved his game, increasing his scoring average by 7.9ppg making it by far the largest increase in point production by an NBA player who averaged at least 10ppg the previous season. The 2005-06 season campaign was another breakout year for Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat. He got selected to his second consecutive All-Star appearance for the Eastern Conference All-Star squad. The Miami Heat had won their first ever championship due in large part to Wade who was named the 2006 NBA Finals MVP with a scoring average of 34.7ppg. Unfortunately for the Miami Heat, they were not able to defend their championship title. The season that followed was even less fortunate for both Wade and the Miami Heat. With Wade unable to fully recuperate from his injuries and Shaq being dealt to the Phoenix Suns, the Miami Heats season grinded to a halt and the team spiraled to the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Wade underwent season ending surgery to get better for the following campaign. Figure Specs Measures 2 inches at top of head; 2 5/8 inches from toe to toe. After teaming up with young superstar Dwyane Wade in helping the Miami Heat franchise capture their first ever NBA championship trophy in 2006, O'Neal was hampered by a nagging knee injury in the following two seasons and was practically non-existent in helping Miami repeat as champions. O'Neal's arrival in Phoenix marked the fourth team that he has played for in his 16 years in the league. O'Neal's primary role with Phoenix was actually to match up against the big men of the defending champions San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs. O'Neal has embraced his role as a veteran player in the Phoenix locker room, not as the center of attention he used to be with his former teams. Having young All-Star forward Stoudamire as his frontcourt mate makes the job easier for O'Neal and also gives the Phoenix Suns two formidable anchors in both offense and defense. What's more disturbing is that when Phoenix gets a healthy ONeal for one season, this could spell disaster for the opposing teams. Figure Specs Figure measures 2 3/8 inches from head to toe. Bryant rose to prominence when he became the first player in the guard position to be drafted in the NBA straight out of high school. Immediately after the draft he expressed his desire to play for the Los Angeles Lakers instead. Lakers manager Jerry West immediately struck a deal which sent Lakers starting center Vlade Divac to the Hornets for the younger Kobe Bryant. Kobe's impressive statistics for his second year was convincing enough for the fans to vote him in to a starting spot in his first NBA All-Star appearance, which made him the youngest All-Star starter in NBA history. With Shaq in his prime and Kobe as the rising star together with a champion coach, Kobe and the Lakers tore up the competition en route to winning the NBA title in 2000 and his first championship ring. With the hopes of reclaiming the title, the Lakers management added aging veteran All-Stars Karl Malone and Gary Payton to the roster to help them push for another title in the 2003-04 season. Despite making his usual annual appearances in the Western All-Star team and the All-NBA lineups, the years that followed was tumultuous for the young superstar: a sexual assault case in Colorado resulting in a tarnished reputation and recalled endorsements; a troubled personal life; the departure of his All-Star teammates and coach; a spat with former Lakers teammates O'Neal, Malone and Lakers owner Jerry Buss; and eventually making verbal swipes at the Lakers management when his trade demands were repeatedly denied. Finally, in the 2005-06 NBA season, Phil Jackson and his young superstar settled their differences and have worked well together since. It now stands as the 2nd most points scored in a game in NBA history. Figure Specs Figure measures 3 1/8 inches from toe to top of raised ball. Though his first two seasons with Dallas were marred by injuries, Nash quickly recovered and teamed up with big German Dirk Nowitzki and the All-Star guard Michael Finley to form "Dallas's Big Three". Dallas is where Nash established himself as a premier point guard. In the off-season free-agency of 2004, contract negotiations became an issue when Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban refused to give Nash the maximum contract deal. Sensing that Phoenix needed him more and coupled with feeling slighted off the offer made by the Mavericks owner, Nash accepted the Suns offer and returned to the team where he started his career. Back in Phoenix, Nash took his game to another level, if only to prove Cuban wrong. With a system that promotes an up-tempo offense coupled with his helter-skelter style of play and pinpoint passing accuracy, Nash led the league in assists for 3 consecutive seasons (2004-06), helping make the Phoenix Suns a perennial playoff contender and even leading them to the Western Conference Finals in 2004. Nash is also one of only eight other players in NBA league history to win the MVP award in succession and only the sixth guard to do so. Steve Nash simply illustrates a model athlete both on and off the court. Figure Specs Figure measures 2 inches from head to toe. On base, top of head is at 3 inches high.
