Ronald W. Tadur, aka Dusty, grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and became attuned to the environment of the desert.

He completed his high school and started working as a repairman for refrigerators and air-conditioners for a living but he had been in love with the desert since childhood and spent his spare time studying the ecology of the desert.

When Dusty enrolled in the military he was trained at Fort Bliss, Texas where he also mastered different languages spoken in the areas near to different deserts around the world.

He became an expert desert-survival soldier and offered his services to the elite G.I.Joe team as the Cobra Commander also formed his desert troopers in order to counter COBRA in the harsh environments of the desert.
