HELPING YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR FIGURE(S)!Bowen Designs Aurora and Northstar Double Pack Mini Busts
Aurora and Northstar's StoryAfter a horrific car crash killed both of their parents, Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie, twins, were sadly separated at a young age. A depressed Jeanne-Marie attempted to kill herself at the age of thirteen, jumping from the roof of her Catholic school, but instead of plummeting to her death, Aurora was born and she began to fly. Around this time, Jean-Paul began to realize his powers of super speed. Skiing and circus performances were two of the ways in which Jean-Paul copped with his unexplainable abilities. However, anger and frustration led him to join a separatist front. He eventually would leave this group, as he eventually realized that they operated as terrorists. Neither of the twins content with their so-called 'normal' lives, they both were ultimately drawn to a reunion in the Canadian governments' Department H (a special service group of mutants). Their handshake instantly released a flash of light. Their first mission as a group was to capture the government operative known as Wolverine, who had recently joined the American X-Men team. The X-Men easily defeated group, and Department H decided to let Wolverine go rather than face massive rebuilding costs. Soon after, Department H disbanded. Northstar realized his sister's dual personality, which she had acquired during her unpleasant disciplining at Madame DuPont's Catholic School for Girls. Northstar tried to get psychiatric help for his sister. When Northstar took his sibling to meet his old mentor Belmonde; Deadly Ernest ambushed the house, killed Belmonde and kidnapped Aurora. With the assistance of Nemesis, Northstar managed to rescue his sister. When they got home, Jean-Paul accused his sister of coming on to her kidnapper; in an effort to escape any harm. This accusation caused Aurora to grow any with her brother and tell him she never wished to see him again. Jeanne-Marie went so far as to chemically change her mutant powers so that she no longer needed Northstar's presence to create a blinding light. She then teamed up with her teammate and lover Sasquatch to defeat Gilded Lily. After a brief cool-down period, Aurora reconciled with her brother after the death of Sasquatch. The two rejoined Alpha Flight, the division of Department H which they had previously been members of. Their first mission back on the team was to stop a rampaging gamma-spawned Hulk. This brought on a realization that if Aurora and Northstar touched, their powers would be temporarily compromised. It also led the Canadian government to the realization that funding for the team was a necessity. Jean-Paul's terrorist past soon came back to haunt him as members of the separatist front started popping up dead. His name, however, would soon be pardon and cleared by Canada's own prime minister when the leader of the group was killed. Northstar would not be off the hook so easily, though. Northstar became extremely sick thereafter, and Alpha Flight went in search of a cure. In the process, the god Loki tricked the twins into believing that they were actually Asgardians, and that Northstar was dying due to his absence of light (due to Aurora's previous modifications of her powers). Aurora immediately healed him by giving him some of hers. Aurora was captured by demons in the Asgardian netherworld, while Northstar was welcomed in the true Asgard. Loki was then punished by a council of Asgard and made to transport Aurora out of the netherworld and into a monastery on earth where she became a nun. Northstar was rescued by his teammates in a battle against dark elves, and in the process, he restored his sister's powers. Concurrently, both siblings were then able to produce light on their own. Around this point, sister and brother began having a slew of individual problems. Northstar adopted an abandoned child with the AIDS virus, and after she died, announced his own homosexuality in hopes of shining a light on HIV prevention. Soon after, Northstar was accused of murdering a tabloid reporter, and simultaneously hunted by the assassin Arcade (who wanted to rid the world of 'impurities'). Luckily, he was able to gain enough evidence to clear his name. Aurora, seeking a more peaceful route, joined a psychiatric counseling group. Later, she was captured and mentally tortured by Headlok for weeks. Eventually, Aurora's dual personality resurfaced, and she managed to defeat her captor. Wild Child, former member of the now defunct Alpha Flight and new member of X-Factor, briefly romanced Aurora. After being committed to a mental institution by her former friends at Department H, Aurora was rescued by the Brotherhood and remained with the criminal group until they disband. Northstar and Aurora then rejoined a new Alpha Flight to examine the new Department H and destroy their Weapon X. Having her share of bad relationships, Aurora was brutally beaten by Weapon X's Project Director after she made advances on him. Apparently, he had anti-mutant sentiments deeply resolved within his mind. Jean-Paul was recruited by Jean Grey of the X-Men to help fight against Magneto. Following this, Northstar became a professor at the Xavier Institute. When Wolverine was captured by the terrorist organization Hydra, Northstar met his fate at the hands of his former X-Men teammate. Northstar was subsequently brought back to life and brainwashed into killing anyone anti-homosexual and anti-mutant. Wolverine then captured Jean-Paul and took him to the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization where he was deprogrammed.
